Torres del Paine entrance fee: prices and the booking trap
The advance-online rule
This is the part that catches people. CONAF, the park authority, sells entrance passes in advance online at pases.conaf.cl, and there is no guarantee of buying a ticket when you show up at the gate. I have seen travellers drive two hours from Puerto Natales on that assumption. Buy before you travel, or book a tour that has already done it for you.
Which tours include the fee
All of the day tours on this site include the park entrance in the price — one reason the full-day tour undercuts most people’s DIY arithmetic once you add a rental car, fuel and the CLP 34,000 ticket. The exception is the 5-day W Trek Express, which leaves the fee out — budget the CLP 34,000 pass on top.
